Paul Jacobs

Paul has spent over 30 years within the recruitment industry, and is the former Managing Director of Office Angels, the UK's leading office support recruitment consultancy and an integral element of Adecco UK.

Paul launched LoveWorkLife in November '09 to provide strategic advice, coaching and mentoring to recruitment business owners/ directors, senior leadership teams to create enviable and contemporary cultures that will attract and retain clients, candidates and most importantly colleagues.

A well known and high profile figure within the UK recruitment industry, Paul commenced his career at Office Angels as a Branch Manager rapidly moving into Area Manager and Regional Operations Director positions, before launching a Corporate Development division which represented 20% of the companies turnover and leading the Marketing and PR department where he was influential in positioning Office Angels as a Super brand gaining twelve times more media coverage than his competitors combined.

Having been appointed to the Board, he became the Managing Director in 2001, and grew the network to over 100 branches from a start position of just over 60, whilst managing a workforce of 650 staff achieving a turnover of £140m and a 7.7% ROS, the no.1 position for Profit in the UK Commercial/Secretarial recruitment sector.

Paul directed Office Angels to win The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Company to Work For in the UK Award, achieving 8th position in 2005 and 2006, and was also awarded Best Company in the UK for Outstanding Workplaces 2006 - 3 stars.

From a humble start as a Junior Broker in Lloyds of London, he entered the recruitment industry at Alfred Marks Bureau as a Junior Interviewer in 1976, where he became their youngest ever Branch Manager and ultimately assisted in the launch and development of a successful national Franchise network before achieving the role of Subsidiary Companies Manager/ Director.

Before joining Office Angels, he worked for Brook Street Bureau and Hays Personnel Services.

Paul rejoined the main Adecco UK & Ireland Board in 2008 as Director - New Business Development and was engaged in developing the strategies for acquiring new business across all of the Groups' brands, including Adecco (retail and corporate), Computer People (IT), Roevin (construction and engineering),Office Angels (commercial) and Jonathan Wren (banking and finance) and was previously engaged in management consultancy projects working closely with senior leadership teams cultivating strategies to develop optimum team and business performance though enhanced sales and marketing processes - notably with Manpower UK.

TV appearances included a regular appearance on CNN, together with Channel 4, BBC1, Open University, and NBC. Paul is also regularly quoted in national and local newspapers and was invited by Microsoft to present OfficeXP Pro on a globally distributed CD- Rom. A judge on the 2007 Recruitment Consultancy of the Year awards, Paul also contributed on a regular basis to the The Bank of England Monetary Commission.
