HUMAN RESOURCES ADVISORY DIVISION
Welcome to our H.R. advisory service, just one of the divisions within the Elizabeth Michael group. This division was born out of our many client conversations relating to the desire to get the most out of people whilst tackling the raft of legislation that continually arrives on our desks; legislation that we are not absolutely sure we understand, but none the less, legislation that we know we would be foolish to ignore.
So what do you do? Who do you listen to? Who can you find, who will explain everything in layman terms and relate it to your business?
Well, we feel we may have the answer at hand.

| | Headed up by Steve Richardson who has over thirty years experience as an H.R. Manager in a blue chip organisation, we are able to offer specific advice to you, based on the information provided to us by you. So much more can be gained by meeting with you in person, rather than relying on the telephone or email, using all our senses in your business environment allows us the opportunity to really appreciate and understand what it is you want us to advise you on, the implications and ramifications of that advice and the best way to move forward, dealing with the existing issue not just in isolation but as part of a bigger picture.
We specialise in practicality. We understand that people management issues need to be resolved effectively and with minimum disruption to the business. We balance your business needs with the demands of legislation, risk and people relationships to ensure the most pragmatic solutions.
While your business may run just fine on a day to day basis, and your HR (or Personnel) administration ticks over smoothly, there will come times when you face more complex challenges perhaps requiring skills, knowledge and expertise that are not available internally.
Predicting the challenges is not easy and you may need help on an ad hoc basis, maybe with a peak in workload. Or maybe faced with particular issues, you need help on a regular basis for a period of time. That’s exactly where we come in, supporting and advising you as and when you need us, guiding you through demanding HR problems.
We allow you to get on with running your business and with our knowledge and experience we provide you with the solutions you need in the most efficient way possible. Whatever your needs, we provide business bespoke policies, documents and procedures to suit you, as well as hands on support and consultancy.
For start up companies we can provide the minimum documents to comply with legislation.
We can compile an essential package of documents for businesses venturing into the world of employing people. This ‘starter pack’ includes:
Written statement of terms and conditions of employment
Job offer letter plus relevant forms
Disciplinary policy and procedure
Grievance policy and procedure
Health and safety policy and procedure
For growing companies we can design documents reflecting a more proactive approach and applying best practice.
Our most popular policies and procedures for growing businesses include:
Sickness absence
Maternity and paternity
Parental leave
Disciplinary
Grievance
Flexible working
IT / email / Internet
Time-off
Equal opportunities
All documents would reflect the latest employment law and would be tailored to your company’s specific needs.
I trust that we may well be able to assist you in some way in the future, and to that end please feel free to contact us with regards to any issue you may have no matter how inconsequential you feel it might be.

“People are your most important asset – look after them and they will look after you”
I am delighted to be able to introduce Elizabeth Michael Associates Training, the latest division within the group.
At Elizabeth Michael we believe that your investment in your people should have significant benefits for your business. We have the experience and contacts to be able to help you to make sure that what you spend on training and developing your people goes a long way in helping you to achieve your business goals. To us, your business is our business.

I have always fervently believed in training, and the major benefits that can be derived from it, but only if it is tailored to suit the specific needs of the delegates attending.
More and more employees are using the training factor as a major part of their decision making process when considering future employment. A business that offers training opportunities is perceived as potentially being a more caring and considerate employer who values the knowledge base and development of their people.
We will listen to you to learn all about your unique training and development needs. From that we will discuss with you the training and other developmental options that are available to you to meet that need.
We offer a wide range of training workshops and courses and, of course, will tailor them to meet your specific needs. And if we can’t offer a course you need, we will be able to advise you on who can, or alternatively offer to source the course for you.
But sometimes a training workshop or course isn’t the best option and we will also help you to consider alternative ways of increasing the capability of your staff to deliver your business goals. For example, we have the experience to be able to:
· Work directly with individuals or small groups,
· Help you to develop a learning and development strategy,
· Advise on knowledge management strategy,
· Help you to set up Action Learning teams,
· Formalise staff cross-training programmes,
· Develop a culture of coaching and mentoring across your business.
By listening to you, we will help you to ensure that you get the best value for your investment in your people.
I sincerely hope that we will be able to assist you and your organisation in the future.
