Director, John Hyde who plays an active role at a school a number of the young people attend kindly donated tickets for Arsenal vs Wolves as well as tickets for Leona Lewis at the Trent FM Nottingham Arena which have and are currently being raffled off, with all proceeds going to the cause.

 

The trip itself, run by Seymour Road Baptist Church in association with Shine Foundation will see a team of 12 young people and 4 adults visiting Nongoma, a more remote area of South Africa blighted by the HIV/Aids virus. The team will be working with children affected in some way by aids and looking to teach and develop life skills with them, that will have a lasting impact and improve their quality of life.

 

Team leader Ben Marshall said “We’re so grateful to John and the rest of the team at Elizabeth Michael. Projects like this take a huge amount of finance to get them off the ground and John’s support has already helped immensely. Not only do the children we work with out in South Africa but so to do the team that go on the visit, so, on behalf of us all, thanks again for all your encouragement and support” 

 

The cost of each team member is £1200 and Elizabeth Michael have pledged to help raise enough funds to fund the trip for one person.

24th April - The Arsenal season ticket raffle raised the excellent total of £448 - so only another £752 to go!

12th May - The raffle for the tickets for the Leona Lewis concert at the Nottingham Arena raised £95 - £657 to go!

4th June - The raffle for the JLS Tickets for the concert at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena thsi coming December raised the excellent total of £256.
This means that Elizabeth Michael have been directly responsible for raising £799 so far toward this great venture.
