Permanent Team

The Permanent Team - The department responsible for placing job seekers in Nottingham into outstanding new Permanent Office Jobs

LEON AYLIN - SENIOR CONSULTANT

In the summer of 1997, I decided to apply for a position advertised in my local paper - the process however involved travelling into Nottingham and registering with a recruitment consultancy, which I duly did.

After several in - depth interviews with our Managing Director John Hyde, my career in recruitment had suddenly and unexpectedly begun!

The recruitment industry was not a career move that I had really considered prior to meeting the Elizabeth Michael folks, but life can take you on interesting twists and turns and I have never looked back since or had any desire to work within any other industry.

This business, I have subsequently discovered, is simply perfect for me, and my personality is ideally suited to the art of finding wonderful new jobs for the Nottingham job seekers who request my support and guidance.

It all began for me in Marketing, which seemed the obvious place to start. It enabled me to learn and gain an in - depth understanding of the many Nottinghamshire based clients associated with Elizabeth Michael, their individual needs and requirements, as well as the fundamentals of the recruitment industry.

By 2002, I had seen business multiply for our company beyond all recognition, which had propelled EM to become one of the leading recruitment consultancies in Nottinghamshire.

The achievements of the business has given me a huge amount of personal satisfaction because in a small business, it is certainly true that each team member can make a significant contribution and provide a marked influence to create a noticeable difference.

It was at this time, as circumstances dictated, that I was moved into the role of Permanent Recruitment Consultant. Whilst I was still able to use the knowledge I had honed over the previous 5 years, it was an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and become more involved in the actual sharp end of the recruitment process.

It has proved to be a great career move for me and I am really proud of the fact that I have been responsible for placing a large number of Nottingham job seekers into great new roles.

The high level of satisfaction that I gain from placing people into jobs and filling my clients' vacancies successfully cannot easily be summarised in words.

From a personal point of view, in 2007 I moved into my current home, a bungalow situated in a quiet village just outside Grantham and it is this, along with an acre of garden, which takes up most of my spare time.

My wife Lisa and I married in 1993, and she is a professional in Holistic Therapies and practices from the summer house at the foot of the garden.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that at some time in the future you will require my assistance.

SELENA ALLWOOD - CONSULTANT

Hi, my name’s Selena,

I am a Nottingham girl born and bred. I broke away at 18 to attend Sunderland University where I studied Humanities (Sociology & History)

After graduating I moved to Surrey where I found myself starting to make inroads into my student debt by working in a call centre. I became adept at handling all types of calls and was quite quickly promoted to become a Team Leader of a small Telesales department.

Sadly I found myself in a redundancy situation in 1998 but out of the adversity came the start of my career in recruitment. Recruitment incorporates all the things I enjoy; Sales, Customer Service, People Management & HR. I love meeting people; finding out what motivates them and helping them to find the perfect job. Here at Elizabeth Michael I am able to indulge in all these things and would go so far as to say that I am a very happy lady.

As far as what I do in my spare time (not that you see a lot of it in recruitment!) I enjoy spending time with friends & family, Yoga, Zumba, holidays and I also have a minor scrabble addiction!

I look forward to meeting you soon.
