Introduction to the Training Division – Clive Trusson

Welcome to the Training Division of Elizabeth Michael. Our objective is to help you to train and develop your people to greater capability.

Working closely with the other divisions of Elizabeth Michael we aim to understand your business needs and offer you training and development options to help you to meet those needs.

Our training workshops are tailored to meet customer requirements. Please have a look at the sample training workshops, but, of course, your needs might mean that we design for you a developmental programme that takes elements from several subject areas.

My personal passion for helping people to develop their skills has kept me engaged in learning, training and development roles throughout my career. My enthusiasm for seeing others develop is only matched by my enthusiasm for learning new things myself.

My career across the public, private, educational and large corporate sectors has given me a breadth of understanding of training issues that organisations face and how those issues might be addressed. In developing and delivering a wide variety of training courses over 20 years I have taken great pride in ensuring that the learners – and not the trainer – are the important people, and it is their needs that are paramount. In designing courses I always have at the front of my mind: “How will the people on the course learn?” rather than “What will I teach them?”

My experience is backed up by industry standard qualifications, Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Membership of the Institute of IT Training (IITT). I am also a fully qualified teacher and a practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).

As a strong believer in lifelong learning, even my spare time is spent indulging my passion for developing myself and others. Currently I’m studying for qualifications in IT Service Management and I also manage to fit in coaching and encouraging an Under 9’s football team. I also play an active role as a Governor at the Primary School that my two boys go to and train myself up to run a different marathon each year.
